How to Eurovision - France 🇫🇷

26 mar 2021
44 572 Áhorf

In 'How to Eurovision', we continue to explore the characteristic features that the participating countries show at the Eurovision Song Contest.
France’s participation in the contest has most often been a given. France was one of the countries at the start of the contest in 1956 and have only missed two editions since.
As obvious as their participation is the presence of their language. French has always been around in the history of Eurovision, through the songs, the script of the hosts and the jurys spokespersons.
All of France's five victories have also been in French.

  • Patricia Kaas' performance in 2009 will always remain among the best ever in Eurovision history for me. Personal preference it is probably, but songs sung in French always have that extra something, therefore I always look forward to what France will send and how their performance will be. And with Barbara Pravi's song, their 2021-entry will be another one to remember, maybe a winner yet again?

I remember as I lived in Germany in 1990-93 (Bremen First, then Heidelberg), I used to meet lots of people coming from different origins, like of course Turkey, but also Afghanistan, and from other continents too.
